HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (April 27, 2017) – Coming off of two successful seasons in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series – SK Light Division at Stafford (CT) Speedway, 16-year-old Daniel Wesson will return to the track this weekend to run the first race of the 2017 season, the 46th annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler.
“I am excited to get back behind the wheel after a long winter,” said Wesson. “My team has worked hard to get our car ready and I can’t wait to get this season underway.”
Hard work has already paid off for the No. 92 team. Wesson was the fastest car on the track last Saturday in the Spring Sizzler open practice.
“Being the fastest of about 20 cars in our division definitely gave me and the team a confidence boost going into the race and the season as a whole. I have no doubt we will be able to get wins and contend for the championship this season.”
Wesson has collected a total of eight NASCAR Whelen All-American Series – SK Light Division wins; five of which came in 2016 where he finished 7th in the standings while running a partial schedule.
Wesson will run full-time this season and compete for the SK Light championship at Stafford Speedway.
