(Sept. 2, 2015) – Tommy Baldwin Racing announced today that the No. 7 Chevrolet will be a throwback to Baldwin’s racing roots and honor the memory of his dad, the late “Tiger” Tom Baldwin. The car design, with driver Alex Bowman behind the wheel, replicates the NASCAR Modified No. 7NY that Tom raced successfully throughout the Northeast.

“I’m grateful to Darlington Raceway and NASCAR for creating the ‘throwback’ theme,” said Tommy Baldwin. “My dad had a great influence on my career, where I started working in his shop and later became his crew chief. That ultimately led to where I am today. Having the opportunity to pay tribute to him and say ‘thank you’ means a lot to me and my family.”

This weekend, the Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington returns to its traditional spot on the calendar for some exciting night racing.

Fans can enjoy the race this Sunday night, Septemeber 5th on NBC, where the pre-race show begins at 7 p.m. ET and the green flag flies at 7:20 p.m.

“I am excited to head down to Snowflake 100 this year, have a little vacation then get at it for the biggest Pro Late Model race of the year,” said Crump. “The competition is going to be the toughest I’ve competed against in the Late Model ranks. I am hoping that our team can make the starting field. I think that would be an accomplishment in itself for our small team. We have been working day and night to get the car done. I can’t thank everyone involved enough, especially my parents.”

Deuser Falls Victim to Mid-Race Crash at the All American 400 http://140buzz.com/deuser-falls-victim-to-mid-race-crash-at-the-all-american-400/ http://140buzz.com/deuser-falls-victim-to-mid-race-crash-at-the-all-american-400/#comments Tue, 04 Nov 2014 02:19:51 +0000 http://140buzz.com/?p=11181 Huntersville, NC (November 3, 2014) – The All American 400 has been circled on Corey Deuser’s calendar for months. The format switch from Super Late Models to Pro Late Models allowed drivers such as Deuser to compete in this prestigious event.

Taking the green flag from the 15th position, it was evident the No. 71 Deuser Electric Company team, led by veteran crew chief Jim Robinson, had prepared a fast car. Unfortunately, before Deuser was able to show his strength, he was collected in an incident along with two-time Daytona 500 Champion Sterling Marlin and a host of others. He finished the All American 400 in 28th position.

“Nashville was good for both the team and myself,” Deuser said. “We adapted quickly and showed that we had speed to compete, but our bad luck continued. We got tore up and didn’t see any reason to go back out and risk tearing it up more.”

Deuser and his team are already busy preparing for the 2015 race season. Look for more information regarding their plans in the near future.

The No. 71 team would like to thank all their sponsors through the 2014 season including: Deuser Electric Company, Focus Eyewear, ARC Construction Management, ASB Custom Homes, Off Axis Paint, Lucas Oil and Fast Track.

Baize’s Strong Nashville Run Ends With Mid-Race Collision http://140buzz.com/baizes-strong-nashville-run-ends-with-mid-race-collision/ http://140buzz.com/baizes-strong-nashville-run-ends-with-mid-race-collision/#comments Tue, 04 Nov 2014 00:12:47 +0000 http://140buzz.com/?p=11179 Huntersville, NC (November 3, 2014) – For Hunter Baize the All American 400 was a positive experience despite the results.

After locking himself in the show during Friday’s qualifying session, Baize was focused on gaining positions during Saturday’s race. Starting 28th, he progressed to running in the top-15 in the first half of the event. A mid-race accident ended his race early and resulted in a 25th place finish.

“The guys at VanDoorn Racing Development gave us a great car for the All American 400,” Baize said. “We qualified p28 but headed towards the front from the drop of the green flag. I believe someone missed a shift on the lap 120 restart, I checked up, but the car behind me had nowhere to go. They got into the back of us, and we slapped the wall, ending our night.”

Baize is now preparing for the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 on Saturday, December 6, 2014 during the Snowball Derby race weekend.

Baize’s No. 13 VanDoorn Racing Development Ford will continue to carry sponsorship from Mountaineer Firewood, Kawasaki, Steel City Bolt, Threaded Fasteners, T.J. Racing Lubricants, Wood-Mizer Portable Saw Mills, B&K Wood Products, Sterling Lumber Company, and McGunegill Engine Performance.
